A Family Owned and Operated Home

Beginning in the late 1800’s with the birth of Anna Anderson, grandmother of founder Linda Hendrickson, our family has had a heart for serving seniors – a family legacy that now spans six generations! Grandma Anderson opened her home to seniors, loving and caring for them well into her own senior years.

Your-HostsIn keeping with the same family spirit, Linda and her husband, Maurice Hendrickson, opened Wickersham House in 2004 – a warm and inviting 10-bed home serving Wasilla-area seniors. Proud to be family owned and operated with a specialty in accommodating seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s. This lovely home has an expansive view of the glorious Chugach mountains; state-of-the-art fire and camera surveillance system, gourmet kitchen, spacious family areas, a greenhouse and well-kept gardens. A Registered Nurse is on-call day and night, and staff is available to assist 24 hours a day – 365 days a year. Help with transportation and medication prompting is also among the services offered at this location. Call Amy Hendrickson at 907-388-3004 to be placed on the waiting list of this popular home.

In 2016, Linda and Maurice opened Joshua House LLC – a grand six-bed home in the up-and-coming area of Knik-Fairview.

Following in the footsteps of her Aunt, Loretta French, Linda Hendrickson is the CEO of the Chugiak-Eagle River Senior Center. She has served in this capacity since 2002. Before her career at the senior center, she worked with CRISTA Ministries in Washington State – there she served as Resident Manager in the Assisted Living program. Her diverse experience makes her an excellent resource when caring for seniors and their needs.

Maurice Hendrickson has lived in Alaska most of his life. He has raised three boys and enjoyed a very successful career with the FAA, retiring as an Aviation Safety Inspector. As a younger man, Maurice served in the ARMY and in Vietnam as helicopter pilot. After the ARMY he joined the Alaska Army Guard for several years. During the 1970’s and 80’s he was employed through the Teamsters Union 959, driving for Sea-Land and Weaver Brothers Trucking.

In the late 80’s he flew for Mark Air Express in Bethel, Alaska. In his older years, Maurice has embraced a missionary-type heart for God completing several mission’s trips. He also has a heart for seniors and providing them with quality homes with assisted living service. As an entrepreneur, Maurice brings business savvy to the heart of the cause. Linda and Maurice are perfect partners in business and in life.

Our Vision

Joshua House LLC was inspired by the promises of the LORD given to Joshua. Even though Joshua was along in years, he was used by God in a mighty way. Through Joshua, God’s people were preserved and given a tremendous inheritance. God spoke to Joshua these comforting words, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9). It is the prayer of Joshua House, that even though you may be along in years – that you trust God to work wonders in your life and that you will be encouraged and lifted up. The LORD is faithful to fulfill His promises for you.
